Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu - BJJ
10th Planet Jiu Jitsu takes the science and the concepts of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and evolves them to address modern needs of the art.
Removing the Gi allows Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu to be more effective when strikes are involved, making it better suited for self-defense and MMA, the ultimate testing grounds for all martial arts. This No-Gi art is based on clinching rather than yanking and pulling on an opponent's Gi, which Founder Eddie Bravo felt was taking the art in an unrealistic, tug of war direction.
Today, the 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu association has spread all over the globe with over 50 locations worldwide. We invite you to come learn this revolutionary art with us, and see how size and strength can be overcome by science!
10th Planet Beaumont is the only school in the area that teaches 100% WITHOUT a Gi, the traditional Japanese uniform, making our classes more suitable for MMA and self-defense in the modern era. At our gym you won’t waist time learning how to grab and attack with a uniform that no one in real life wears.
10th Planet Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu was first introduced to the world after its founder, Eddie Bravo, submitted the BJJ icon Royler Gracie at the ADCC World Championships in 2003.
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu or BJJ, is the fastest growing martial art in the world today. 20 years ago it only existed in Brazil, but now tens of thousands of BJJ academies are thriving all over the planet.
