THE BENEFITS OF INCLUDING MARTIAL ARTS AS PART OF A LAW ENFORCEMENT TRAINING PROGRAM
At 10th Planet Beaumont, we are committed to providing law enforcement and correctional officers with the highest quality training:
- Self-defense: Law enforcement officers and correctional officers often face challenging and potentially dangerous situations where they may need to protect themselves or others. Martial arts training can provide them with practical self-defense techniques to de-escalate or manage physical confrontations more effectively.
- Control and restraint: In their line of work, officers sometimes need to subdue or control aggressive individuals without resorting to excessive force. Martial arts training can teach them techniques for safely restraining and managing non-compliant subjects.
- Physical fitness: Martial arts training can improve officers’ physical fitness, agility, and coordination, which are essential for their job performance and overall well-being.
- Confidence and focus: The mental discipline and focus cultivated through martial arts practice can help officers remain calm and composed during stressful situations.
- Community engagement: Some law enforcement agencies use martial arts training as a tool for community engagement and outreach programs, fostering positive relationships between officers and the public they serve.
TRAINING TAILORED FOR PEACE OFFICERS
Our program, designed to address the specific needs of officers, offers a comprehensive and practical approach to self-defense.
Unlike generic self-defense programs, we cover a range of martial arts disciplines, including jiu-jitsu, ensuring officers are well-rounded in their self-defense capabilities. This comprehensive training sets us apart and provides officers with a diverse skill set to handle various situations.
Styles may include:
- Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu: Known for its focus on ground grappling and control techniques, BJJ is valuable for law enforcement officers who need to subdue and restrain individuals without causing harm.
- Krav Maga: Developed for the Israeli military, Krav Maga emphasizes practical self-defense and quick responses to real-world threats.
- Judo: A martial art focused on throws and takedowns, Judo can help officers safely control suspects during confrontations.
- Defensive Tactics Systems: Some law enforcement agencies develop their own specific defensive tactics systems, incorporating elements from various martial arts to create a comprehensive training program.
We firmly believe a well-rounded approach to self-defense is essential for peace and correctional officers to navigate their demanding roles with confidence and effectiveness. Our goal is to enhance your overall safety and security with martial arts. Additionally, by developing your instincts and decision-making abilities you can not only serve and protect the public but also promote communication, aiding in the de-escalation of complex situations.
Recognizing the demanding schedules of law enforcement and correctional officers, we offer flexible class schedules to accommodate their shift rotations. Head instructor (Brown Belt) definitely a high level black belt, but his head coach lives in Los Angeles. So don't be fooled by the brown belt. He does have his own standard of promoting and it's pretty high. A few of his top guys would be considered brown maybe even black belts anywhere else in the area. If you want a blue belt I wouldn't miss any classes for at least a year and a half and you might want to be productive in competition.
Besides that the jujitsu is great and the coaching is seco.

If you follow mma, jui jitsu, or Joe Rogan then you've heard of 10th planet.
These guys are the real deal. It was my first time at a 10p and I was not disappointed. Nicest group you'll ever meet and absolute killers on the mat. Their blue belts seemed like high level purples. Plus they were so friendly i felt like family right off the bat.
